Under the primary law of the EU belong not only the basic treaties of the EU - TEU and TFEU, but also protocols to the basic treaties, Euratom Treaty, Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU , accession treaties of the EU, as well as general principles of EU law. Except the general principles of EU law, the referred afore acts may be found at EUR-Lex. Not all general principles of EU law lie in the EU legal acts, but some of them, such as direct effect, have been worked out by the CJEU.
Except the general principles of law, primary law of the EU requires specific procedures to be followed and ratification by EU Member States. Article 48 TEU foresees procedures for Treaty amendment.
