Some unpublished thoughts
Truth – (mixture of terms)
it is not a single character, but actually combines absolute completeness,
absolute universality, and absolute preciseness, which do not exist.
Objective of Science – Logical, internally
flawless models that describe reality as universally and precisely as possible.
The measure of the quality of scientific theories is not truth
but precision and universality.
Intelligence – a system capable of
formulating original questions and finding answers to them.
Intelligent—complex thinking with
minor flaws; fool- simple thinking with major flaws.
A good motivation for
doing research: Practicing science is the most intelligent way of existence in the
universe that we know so far.
Biological life – The only feasible
way to define life is the anthropocentric way, as systems with any number and
combination of qualities may exist. Biological life is not a single quality but
a list of qualities centered on us (humans). Complex physical-chemical systems
sharing a larger number of qualities with humans are more “alive” than systems
sharing a smaller number of qualities with humans, which are more “dead”.
